The second “Austwick Entertains” was held in the Parish Hall on the 24th January 2015. A packed hall was treated to an evening of variety provided by some very accomplished local people both young and old.
The entertainers included The Confederation Schools Orchestra, The Parish Church Choir, The Jukebox Junkies and the Loose Canons. Individual contributions came from Joseph Williams, Sam & Matt Purcell, George Gooch, Rob Clarke, Gabriel Williams, Molly Baldwin, Caitlin Carroll & Grace Chenery, Charlotte Stewart, Mollie Bratt, Rod Meredith & Roger Mitchell, Tallula Williams, and Lauren & Bob Evans. The evening was rounded off by a resounding bagpipe tribute to Robbie Burns, played by Alistair Lothian. The audience then joined hands to sing “Auld Lang Syne.”
These talented entertainers gave us classical music, jazz, swing, folk and rock n roll, mixed with liberal doses of comedy.
The evening raised just under £600.00 for Parish Hall Funds which will go towards the continued maintenance of the Hall. In spite of the recent lottery grant to the Hall, funds are still needed for day to day maintenance.
The Parish Hall Council thanks all who took part, whether as entertainers, caterers or all round helpers. Most of all, however, thanks are due to those of you who came along to enjoy the evening. Thank you all.
