Pandemonium in the South Seas!
With the upheavals all around the world at the moment, the Austwick Community Players are providing an escape to The South Seas in their latest production on March 3rd and 4th this year. They’ll be relaxing on a paradise island, enjoying the ecology and gastronomy – but keeping an eye open for pirates and things lurking in the jungle….
The Players have been preparing the comedy show since November to present one of the area’s most anticipated annual performances. Last year’s audience were very impressed: “a fine evening’s entertainment summed up in one word – Fab!”; “we were magically and mystically entertained”. This year’s show, called Pandemonium in Paradise, is one for the family with a very snappy script, colourful costumes and enormous fun.
In a tradition going back over 40 years, the play is written, produced and performed by people from Lawkland and Austwick parishes. Two public performances are put on in aid of the parishes’ annual evening for residents aged over 65, and draws in an audience from the North Craven area and beyond.
The public shows are on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th March at Austwick Parish Hall. Doors open at 7.00pm for 7.30pm. Tickets £6 (includes refreshments) £2.50 children are from Austwick village shop (015242 51415) or from any of The Players. More information from 015242 51269.
