The new Bishop of Bradford, the Rt. Revd. Nick Baines, visited the Austwick area on 21 June. Making a very early start the episcopal party, which included local clergy and parishioners, walked up Pen y Ghent in very wet conditions. They were met at the summit by an advance party who had prepared welcome hot drinks and refreshments.
The group then descended and enjoyed breakfast at Elaine’s cafe in Feizor before visiting David and Elizabeth’s Booth’s farm.
The Bishop will be returning to the area on 31 July when he is to conduct a confirmation service at Keasden.
